Why Ken is Riding
Ken Webster is setting out on a bike trip around Lake Michigan to raise support for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse. The goal is simple: help ship 600 shoebox gifts to children around the world.
Each shoebox costs $10 to ship. Our goal is to raise $6,000 to help cover shipping and handling so these gifts can reach children who need encouragement, hope, and care.
Ken will ride a minimum of 100 miles, with a goal of 600 miles around Lake Michigan.
What Is Operation Christmas Child?
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse that delivers shoebox gifts to children around the world. Each shoebox is packed with simple gifts like school supplies, hygiene items, toys, and other essentials. For many children, it may be the first gift they have ever received.
These shoeboxes are more than boxes of supplies. They are a way to show children they are seen, loved, and not forgotten. The money raised through Ken’s ride will help cover the $10 shipping and handling cost for each shoebox so more gifts can reach children around the world.
